Visiting the Best Vacation Destinations in Europe

Have you ever been to Europe? If you have not, then you are pretty much dreaming of having a vacation there someday and for those who have, are probably planning for their next visit. It is not surprising why tourists feel this way. I myself am dreaming of touring Europe one day. In fact, I have my list of the best vacation destinations in Europe just in case I was lucky enough to finally be able to go there.

First on my list of the best vacation destinations in Europe would definitely be Paris, France. They say that “all roads in France lead to Paris”. I would definitely like to confirm if it is really the case. The best way would be getting in top of the Eiffel tower for my eyes to see what the scenery of Paris from the top of the tower. Afterwards, I will tour the Louvre Museum for various collections of antiques and see the painting of Mona Lisa.

The next on my checklist will be Italy because in such a country there are many tourist destinations. In fact, my second, third and fourth favorite sites can be located in this country. My second would be Rome. I like this place because of its architectural designs and historical significance. The buildings like the Coliseum which was used by the Roman Empire to showcase their gladiator’s valiant fight in the arena. The Vatican which is a historical and seat of power for Christian Catholicism is just neighboring Coliseum. The third destination would be Venice, the “City of Water”. I would like to explore Venice by using a Gondola boat as my lover and I cruise through its waterways. It is most definitely a lover’s paradise. If you want to experience the renaissance period then without a doubt you should not leave Italy without going to Florence which is my fourth favorite location.

My fifth itinerary would be to go to London. I would love to hear the Big Ben ring its bells as Clock Tower hit midnight and to watch while the Tower Bridge rises up while there is a ship crossing. To ride on top of London’s Eye, a gigantic Ferris wheel, to view from above the city of London.

The next destination would be Barcelona, Spain. To experience the Spanish culture while walking along La Ramblas, a well renowned place for its cafĂ© and superb shops that offers good Spanish delicacies and cuisines. They say the Spanish dialect is a language of love. Learning a thing or two of Spanish like, “Me Amore”, would be an added bonus.

Being one of the oldest civilizations that greatly influenced our society today, I think Athens deserves to be on my seventh must see destinations in Europe. It would be nice to look back on where it all started, to explore the remnants of its magnificence. The Greeks vast culture is really something to marvel upon. Their philosophers like Aristotle, Plato and many others help develop our way of thinking through their philosophies. They gave us spectacular stories of their gods and goddesses through their mythology. Until this day we still marvel their great stories.

When touring Europe it is worthwhile to rest a bit in my eight favorite destinations which is Amsterdam. They have very affordable hotels and the sweets and delicacies are marvelous.

The last two places I would like to visit before I end my journey are definitely Stockholm in Sweden and Berlin in Germany. Stockholm have a very rich history and culture and the solstice is something to look forward. The last would be to visit Berlin the capital of Germany.

Best Places to Travel

There is no single answer to the question of where are the best places to travel on vacation. The first question to ask is not what place to go but instead what kind of traveler are you?

What Kind of Traveler Are You?

* Are you a Phileas Fogg? Are you a world traveler who measures success by the number of countries visited?

* Are you a Robinson Curuso? Do you enjoy the out of the way and off the beaten path?

* Are you a Geoffery Chaucer? Is the trip more about the people you travel with than the destination?

* Are you a Henry David Thoreau? Is your ideal vacation just a quiet place near home?

There are many different traveling styles or different goals for travel.

* You can travel to get away from it all.

* You can travel to learn about a new culture.

* You can travel to party.

* You can travel to reconnect with family and friends.

* You can travel for adventure.

What is Your Travel Style / Budget?

Some people would rather stay home than stay any place that did not have 5 stars. Others could not imagine staying in any place more fancy than a youth hostel. Some who would love to stay at the fancy resort can’t afford to.

Before you travel you need to figure out your travel budget and style. What kind of style you like will help determine where you can afford to travel and for how long. My wife and I planned a trip to Hawaii before our first child was born. After looking at our budget we had to decide that a road trip to San Diego would be a better option.

One if by Land, Two if By Sea… Three if By Air?

Do you like road trips? If so how about an domestic itinerary. If you like the outdoors or history you could visit national parks. If you like sports consider a tour of major or minor league ballparks. If you like big city lights would a trip to New York, Chicago or Las Vegas be within your range?

Do you like cruises? Consider only packing and unpacking once and letting your hotel (ship) travel from port to port. From the East coast of the United States Bermuda and the Caribbean are both easily accessible. From the west coast Mexico or Alaska offer very different vacations.

If you love to fly and can afford it then Europe, Africa, Asia and South America beckon.

Europe offers familiarity for American visitors but with loads of history. Europe offers destinations from the familiar London and Paris to less familiar destinations like Croatia, Slovenia and Estonia. You have to be willing to deal with another language or driving on the other side of the road.

Africa offers unforgettable wildlife experiences or the wonders of ancient Egypt. It also offers ancient churches dug into the rocks of Ethiopia or far off destinations like Timbuktu. It will require many travels to get further outside their comfort zone.

Asia offers ancient cultures and new economic powerhouses. Your trip might be to overwhelming places like New Delhi which will challenge even veteran travelers or safer more familiar destinations like Singapore.

South America offers better exchange rates than europe but less political stability. It offers European style cities like Buenos Aires or ancient Incan cities like Machu Picchu.

One thing I have learned from hosting the Amateur Traveler for over three years is that there are many more places to travel than I had originally considered. It had never occurred to me to:

* Go to Tonga and swim with whales.

* See the stone churches in Ethiopia.

* Do a night tour of Petra in Jordan.

* See the wild horses in Mongolia.

The more I learn about travel the more places I want to go. What is the best place to travel to? For me it is always the next place.

Pick the Best Place to Travel

tr1

Traveling to a different place can be exciting and fun. There is nothing like seeing new sights and hearing new sounds. Whether it’s for a much needed vacation or just for some adventure, traveling gives you the chance to enjoy, unwind and lose yourself in a new environment. But before you can do this, you have to figure out; where exactly it is you want to go? Picking the best place to travel can seem like an easy enough thing to do. However there are a couple of factors you need to consider to pick the right place for you to travel to.

First you need to think about who you are going with. If you are planning on going solo, deciding where to go will be bit easier. You just pick a place you feel you want to go to. The museums of Paris may seem like a thrill to you but certainly not for your five year old kid. You would also need to consider if the place of your choice is convenient for everyone to go to. You might have difficulty taking your older parents to a tourist destination which requires a lot of hiking and strenuous activities. If you plan to travel with your spouse or significant other, you would then prefer a romantic destination as opposed to going on a trip Disneyland. Who you plan to travel with is an important factor in ensuring that you pick the right place to go.

Another thing you may need to think about is your budget. You need to see how much you can afford to spend for your whole trip taking in to consideration every possible expense such as hotel accommodations, food allowance, transportation fees and the like. You wouldn’t want to be stuck in an uncharted territory having money problems. To ensure that you have enough money, you might choose to avail of the services of a travel agency. These agencies might have a package or some discounts that you can avail of that will save you some money in the process.

Make a list of the top three places you are considering as your travel destination. Research these three and find out the current events of each place so you can gauge its political environment. This is for your own safety and for those you might travel with as well. Check what the climate is like at that place during the time you plan to travel. You should also see the tourist spots in each place so you will be able to get an idea of where to go and what each destination has to offer. Researching these places will also enable you to make a more concrete budget.

From the data you have gathered, compare and contrast the three places. You need to consult with those you plan to travel with and together, you’ll be able to pick the best place to travel.

Once you have picked the right place to go. Then do research on who will provide you with the best terms in their landlord forms. This is key to finding the right home away from home. Many times, a landlords forms will be available on their website but they can also email or fax you the information. Regardless of how you receive the forms, make sure you clearly understand all of the terms so that you can pick the right place for you and your family.
